IFIC Bank Unveils New Islamic Banking Identity and Expands Service Network

IFIC Bank PLC has officially introduced a new logo and corporate slogan for its Islamic banking division as part of a strategic drive to consolidate its Sharia-compliant operations and enhance customer service. The unveiling, held on Monday, 27 April 2026, coincided with the launch of five dedicated Islamic banking windows and the establishment of specialised service desks across the bank’s extensive nationwide network.

The ceremony took place at the multipurpose hall of IFIC Tower in Dhaka. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Md. Mehmood Husain, attended as the chief guest to formally reveal the new visual branding and announce the slogan: “Combination of Purity and Blessing” (translated from the Bengali Shuddhota O Borokoter Somonnoy).

Strengthening Sharia-Based Infrastructure

The initiative aims to provide clients with faster and more effective access to Islamic financial services. By integrating dedicated service desks into existing branches and sub-branches, IFIC Bank seeks to streamline the banking experience for individuals and businesses prioritising interest-free financial solutions.

The inauguration of the five new Islamic banking windows represents a pivotal step in the bank’s transition toward a more comprehensive dual-banking model. These windows are designed to function under rigorous Sharia principles, with oversight provided by the bank’s Sharia Supervisory Committee to ensure all investments, deposits, and transactions remain compliant with Islamic law.

Growth Outlook and Strategic Vision

During the event, Chairman Md. Mehmood Husain spoke on the significant potential of the Islamic finance sector in Bangladesh. He highlighted that the demand for Sharia-based services is experiencing a positive growth trajectory, driven largely by the ethical and religious preferences of the domestic population.

“The demand for Islamic banking in Bangladesh is highly promising,” the Chairman remarked. “Leveraging IFIC Bank’s robust network, the youth will serve as the primary catalysts for this sector’s expansion. Our objective is to refine the skills of our young workforce and ensure a high standard of customer-centric service through strategic guidance.”

Syed Mansur Mustafa, the Managing Director of IFIC Bank, provided further insight into the bank’s future roadmap. He stated that the introduction of the new identity and service desks is a foundational step in a broader expansion strategy. He also indicated that the bank plans to launch a series of innovative, demand-driven Islamic products in the near future to cater to the evolving needs of its clientele.

Corporate Commitment and Industry Context

The ceremony was attended by senior management, including Deputy Managing Directors and various departmental heads. Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Head of the Islamic Banking Division, concluded the event by expressing gratitude to the bank’s stakeholders and the Sharia scholars who have guided the division’s development.

With a vast network of over 1,400 branches and sub-branches, IFIC Bank continues to reinforce its “neighbourhood banking” philosophy. The integration of Sharia-compliant desks across this network is expected to bolster financial inclusion by reaching demographic segments that have traditionally avoided conventional interest-based banking.

This strategic shift by IFIC Bank mirrors a wider trend within the Bangladeshi financial industry. As Islamic banking now accounts for approximately one-third of the total domestic banking sector, traditional commercial banks are increasingly adopting a “window” or “wing” model to capture a larger share of this growing market. By modernising its branding and expanding its physical service points, IFIC Bank is positioning itself to remain competitive in a sector defined by high consumer demand and rapid structural evolution.
