Bengal Commercial Bank PLC has inaugurated a new branch in Barishal, located at Fatima Centre in the Bibi Pukur Par area of the city.
The branch was officially opened by Md Jashim Uddin, chairman of Bengal Commercial Bank PLC and president of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who served as the chief guest. Tarik Morshed, the bank’s managing director and CEO, presided over the inaugural ceremony.
Bengal Commercial Bank currently operates branches across various cities, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Barishal, Cumilla, Noakhali, Rangpur, Bogura, Pabna, Gazipur, Narayanganj, and Tangail. The bank has been actively expanding its network, with a Sylhet branch scheduled to open soon, according to the press release.
The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures such as Ebaydul Haque Chand, president of the Barishal Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mohammad Nizam Uddin, president of the Barishal Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Md Humayun Kabir, deputy managing director and company secretary of the bank. Several senior officials, clients, and local business leaders were also present at the event.
The new branch aims to enhance the bank’s local presence and provide improved financial services to customers in Barishal and surrounding areas.
