Muhit Rahman Appointed Managing Director of ONE Bank

Muhit Rahman, a seasoned banker with over 30 years of experience, has been appointed the new Managing Director of ONE Bank PLC.

Muhit Rahman, a distinguished banker with a wealth of experience in corporate, institutional, and investment banking, assumed the role of Managing Director at ONE Bank PLC on Sunday.

With over three decades of expertise, Muhit has held senior leadership positions at prestigious financial institutions, including Standard Chartered Bank and American Express Bank. His extensive career covers a broad range of areas, including corporate and investment banking, financial institutions, financial markets, structured finance, capital markets, and strategic balance sheet management.

Before joining ONE Bank, Muhit served as the Managing Director and Head of Financial Institutions at Standard Chartered Bank in Bangladesh. In this role, he was responsible for managing critical relationships with banks, non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), the central bank, multilateral agencies, development organisations, and public sector entities.

He also led Standard Chartered’s financial markets business and played a key role in closing several landmark deals, demonstrating his expertise in navigating complex financial landscapes. Throughout his career, Muhit has been instrumental in pioneering innovative products and solutions within the banking sector.

Muhit began his professional journey at American Express Bank in 1995, before joining Standard Chartered in 2005, where he steadily advanced in his career.

He holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at the University of Dhaka and has completed several executive and leadership programmes at renowned global institutions, including Cambridge, Oxford, the London School of Economics (LSE), UC Berkeley, Columbia, and INSEAD.

With his extensive experience and leadership acumen, Muhit Rahman is poised to lead ONE Bank into its next phase of growth and success.
