Mercantile Bank PLC hosted the ‘Risk Conference 2025’ on Saturday at the bank’s head office in the capital.
The event was inaugurated by Md. Sirajul Islam, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, who attended as the chief guest, as stated in a press release.
Md. Anwarul Haq, Chairman of the Board, and Mohammad Abdul Awal, Chairman of the Risk Management Committee, delivered speeches as guests of honour.
The conference also featured presentations from Mati Ul Hasan, Managing Director of Mercantile Bank, and A.N.M. Moinul Kabir, Director of the Department of Off-Site Supervision (DOS) at Bangladesh Bank, who spoke as special guests.
Other prominent attendees included M. A. Khan Belal, Chairman of the Executive Committee; Prof. Dr. Md. Rezaul Kabir, Chairman of the Audit Committee; A. S. M. Feroz Alam and M. Amanullah, Directors; and Dr. Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam, Independent Director of the bank.
The conference also saw contributions from Surabhi Ghosh, Additional Director, and Mst. Nazmin Nahar, Joint Director from the DOS of Bangladesh Bank, who served as resource persons.
Md. Zakir Hossain, DMD & Acting CRO of the bank, delivered the welcome address, while Shamim Ahmed, EVP & DCRO, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
In addition, Shamim Ahmed, Ashim Kumar Saha, DMDs, CFO Tapash Chandra Paul, PhD, and other senior officials from Mercantile Bank participated in the conference.
The event was attended virtually by all Heads of Divisions, Departments, Units, as well as the Heads of Regional Offices, Branch Managers, and officials from the Risk Management Division of the bank.
