Dhaka Bank PLC, in collaboration with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the Swiss Embassy in Bangladesh, has launched a digital financial literacy programme for migrant workers and their families as part of the “Successful Programme” initiative. This joint effort aims to enhance digital and financial inclusion within Bangladesh’s migrant community.
The main objective of this initiative is to increase digital knowledge, financial skills, and confidence among migrant workers and their families. This will enable them to safely manage remittances, savings, and investments via digital platforms. Through Dhaka Bank’s digital platform, the programme will create and promote relevant financial literacy content and tools tailored for rural and remittance-dependent families.
Collaboration for Financial Literacy
Through this partnership, UNCDF, Dhaka Bank, and the Swiss Embassy will jointly develop a digital financial literacy curriculum and user-friendly training modules. These resources will educate migrant families on how to securely use digital accounts, protect themselves from fraud, and make informed financial decisions to build savings and assets.
At the launch event, A.K.M. Shahnewaz, Managing Director (Current Responsibility) of Dhaka Bank PLC, stated:
“As a responsible financial institution, Dhaka Bank is committed to bridging the digital divide. We are working to equip migrant families, who make a significant contribution to our economy, with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively use digital financial services.”
