Mohammad Sekander-E-Azam has joined Southeast Bank PLC as the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) as of Thursday, according to an official press release.
Prior to his appointment at Southeast Bank, Sekander served as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Branch Distribution Channels at United Commercial Bank (UCB). Over the years, he has held several important roles within the banking sector, and his wealth of experience is expected to help propel Southeast Bank towards further success.
Sekander began his career in 1998 at Eastern Bank PLC as a Senior Officer, and he went on to work at BRAC Bank PLC and United Commercial Bank PLC, where he gained invaluable experience in the banking industry.
He holds both a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and Master of Commerce (MCom) degree from the University of Dhaka, specialising in management. Additionally, Sekander earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computing and Information Systems from London Guildhall University. This diverse academic background and professional expertise will undoubtedly be an asset to Southeast Bank.
With his appointment, Southeast Bank is expected to make significant strides in achieving its future goals, further establishing its position in the competitive banking sector.
