Nagad Sets All-Time High for Annual Transactions

Nagad, the digital financial arm of the Bangladesh Post Office, has concluded the 2025 calendar year by setting a staggering new benchmark in the country’s mobile financial services (MFS) sector. The firm successfully processed an unprecedented 380,000 crore BDT in total transactions over the twelve-month period. This figure marks a substantial expansion compared to the 330,000 crore BDT recorded in 2024, representing a year-on-year growth of approximately 15% and reinforcing the platform’s status as a primary engine for digital fiscal activity in Bangladesh.

The year was punctuated by a series of escalating monthly records, suggesting that Nagad’s growth is deeply embedded in the daily habits of its users. The month of December 2025 saw a historic peak, with transaction volumes reaching 35,530 crore BDT—the highest monthly total ever recorded by the provider. This crowning achievement followed two other record-breaking months earlier in the year, specifically in March and October, illustrating a consistent upward momentum throughout the four quarters of 2025.

In a formal announcement, the Administrator of Nagad, Md. Mezbaul Haque, credited this success to the synergy between the company’s dedicated workforce and a loyal, expanding customer base. He highlighted that Nagad’s strategy of offering the market’s lowest “cash-out” fees remains a significant draw for users. “Our focus on security and the continuous introduction of user-centric campaigns have fostered a deeper level of trust,” he noted. He further observed that this reliability has not only attracted a new demographic of users but has also encouraged existing customers to increase their transactional frequency across the platform’s diverse service range.

Since its launch just six years ago, Nagad has navigated a rapid ascent to the top of the fintech landscape. The record-breaking performance in 2025 was fueled by a wide spectrum of digital activities, ranging from traditional “cash-in” and “cash-out” services to increasingly popular features like mobile recharges, utility bill payments, and foreign remittances. As the institution continues to expand its service scope, its ability to manage such vast financial volumes confirms its role as a cornerstone of the nation’s journey towards a digital-first economy.
