Prime Bank Unveils ‘TapIn’ NFC Sticker

Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with Mastercard, has introduced ‘TapIn’, a next-generation NFC-enabled debit sticker card designed to enhance the speed, security and convenience of everyday transactions. The innovative solution has been developed and powered by IDEMIA, with local technological support from ADN Technologies Ltd..

The official unveiling ceremony took place at Prime Tower and was attended by senior representatives from the partnering organisations, including M. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank; Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager for Bangladesh at Mastercard; and A M Ehsan-ul Haque, Chief Executive Officer of ADN Technologies Ltd.

A Compact, Contactless Solution

The TapIn sticker card is a slim, lightweight payment device embedded with Near Field Communication technology. It can be affixed to smartphones, wallets or other personal belongings, enabling users to conduct contactless ‘tap-and-go’ payments at compatible terminals worldwide. Designed for customers with fast-paced urban lifestyles, the device aims to reduce reliance on traditional plastic cards while retaining full debit card functionality.

The solution offers global acceptance across Mastercard-enabled point-of-sale terminals and online platforms. It also supports ATM withdrawals from Prime Bank ATMs through integration with the bank’s MyPrime digital banking platform.

Security and Control

Security remains central to the TapIn proposition. The sticker card is protected by enterprise-grade encryption and advanced fraud monitoring systems. Customers receive instant transaction alerts and enjoy real-time account visibility, providing greater transparency and improved financial oversight.

In addition to domestic usability, cardholders can access year-round privileges at more than 10,000 Mastercard partner merchants across Bangladesh, alongside a wide range of international promotional offers.
