Southeast Bank Introduces Visa Student Credit Card

Dhaka, 5 March 2026Southeast Bank has officially launched its Visa Student Credit Card, a financial product specifically tailored for university students. The launch event, held at the Sheraton Dhaka Hotel, was marked by a festive gathering of banking officials, academic leaders, and distinguished guests. According to bank sources, the initiative aims to enhance financial literacy, promote responsible credit use, and ensure inclusive access to financial services among the youth.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Md. Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, as the chief guest. M. A. Kashem, Chairman of Southeast Bank, attended as a special guest. Honoured attendees included Aziz Al Kaiser, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of North South University, and Sabbir Ahmed Khan, Country Manager of Visa International. The event was presided over by Md. Khalid Mahmud Khan, Managing Director and CEO of Southeast Bank. Other participants included the bank’s two Additional Managing Directors, a Deputy Managing Director, and representatives from leading universities such as North South University, Ahsanullah University, and Daffodil International University.

According to the bank’s press release, the Visa Student Credit Card is available to undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in recognised universities. Risk management is ensured through parental or guardian guarantees, enabling controlled credit usage. The card provides financial support for education, digital services, and daily expenses, helping students develop responsible financial habits from an early age.
