Two additional customers of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC have secured motorcycles under an ongoing remittance festival campaign organised in partnership with Ria Money Transfer. The initiative, launched during the holy month of Ramadan, continues to gain traction as part of efforts to channel expatriate remittances through formal and secure banking systems.
The latest development marks the announcement of the 19th and 20th winners, selected through a digital raffle draw held on Sunday (29 March) at Islami Bank Tower in Dhaka. Bank officials noted that the programme is designed not only to reward customers but also to reinforce confidence in regulated remittance services.

Md. Main Uddin, a customer of the Nangalkot branch in Cumilla, has been declared the 19th motorcycle recipient. His eligibility stemmed from a remittance sent by Nasir Uddin, a Bangladeshi expatriate residing in the United States.
Meanwhile, the 20th motorcycle was awarded to Md. Ziaul Haque, a ‘Cellfin’ digital banking user affiliated with the Feni branch. His winning entry corresponded to a remittance sent by Mohammad Mominul Haque from South Africa.
Both winners were selected through a transparent and digitally managed raffle process conducted in the presence of senior officials, ensuring accountability and fairness throughout the selection.
High-Level Participation at Ceremony
The raffle draw ceremony witnessed the participation of senior leadership from Islami Bank and representatives of its international remittance partner. Managing Director Md. Omar Faruk Khan attended as chief guest, reaffirming the bank’s commitment to enhancing remittance services and customer engagement.
Among other attendees were Deputy Managing Director Md. Rafiqul Islam; Head of Foreign Remittance Services Division Md. Motahar Hossain Mollah; Head of Overseas Banking Division Mohammad Shahadat Hossain; Head of Foreign Trade Processing Division Md. Campaign Framework
The remittance festival has been structured as a daily reward initiative throughout Ramadan. Each banking day, from Sunday to Thursday, one eligible customer receiving remittance via Ria Money Transfer is selected through a digital draw and awarded a motorcycle.
This consistent reward mechanism has significantly increased customer participation while promoting the bank’s digital financial ecosystem, including its ‘Cellfin’ platform.

Strengthening Formal Remittance Channels
Officials emphasised that the campaign plays a strategic role in encouraging expatriates to use formal remittance channels rather than informal alternatives. Such initiatives help ensure transparency, security, and efficiency in cross-border financial transactions.
Moreover, the increased inflow of remittances through authorised systems directly contributes to national economic resilience. In a country like Bangladesh, where remittances are a key driver of economic growth, such measures are seen as particularly significant.
The collaboration between Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC and Ria Money Transfer reflects a broader industry movement towards integrating digital solutions with customer-focused incentives. By combining technology, convenience, and rewards, the bank aims to expand its reach and strengthen trust among both expatriates and domestic beneficiaries.
As the campaign continues through Ramadan, more winners are expected to be announced in the coming days. Islami Bank has expressed optimism that the initiative will sustain momentum, deepen engagement with the expatriate community, and deliver meaningful benefits to customers nationwide.
