Al-Arafah Islami Bank has taken the first step towards transforming into a modern banking institution with the introduction of the ‘Ababil NG (Next Generation)’ core banking system, part of its internal Project Nebula. This initiative is aimed at upgrading the bank’s technological capabilities, which will enable it to provide more efficient and customer-centric services.
On Wednesday, Mohammad Rafat Ullah Khan, the acting Managing Director of the bank, inaugurated the training programme for the new system as the chief guest, according to a press release.
Mahmud Hossain, Managing Director and CEO of Millennium Information Systems Limited, also attended the event.
In his speech, Mohammad Rafat Ullah Khan stated, “The launch of Ababil NG will mark the beginning of a new era for the bank. Through this system, we will be able to offer enhanced world-class services to our customers and establish a strong competitive edge in the banking sector.”
He urged all the bank’s officers and employees to fully embrace this change with attention and responsibility, as it would play a critical role in the bank’s future success.
The event was also attended by senior executives including Towhiduzzaman Fuad, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Operations, Soheb Ahmed, Executive Vice President and Head of ICT, and Mohammad Amir Hossain, Senior Vice President and Head of HR, among others.
