BRAC Bank has honoured its top performers for their exceptional contributions to driving inward remittance growth and promoting innovative products designed specifically for remittance beneficiaries.
A total of 45 individuals, including branch staff, agent banking personnel, sales teams, and agent banking partners, were recognised in various categories for their efforts in the ‘Probashi Poribar’ and ‘TARA Probashi Poribar’ account opening campaign, according to a press release issued on Wednesday. These initiatives aim to encourage the use of secure banking channels for remittance inflows and to foster savings among beneficiaries, ensuring long-term financial security.
The awards ceremony, held on October 26 at the bank’s head office, saw BRAC Bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, presenting the accolades to the top performers.
Tareq stated, “Our goal is to strengthen Bangladesh’s remittance sector and contribute positively to the national economy. Our dedicated team is working tirelessly to encourage remittance inflows through legal channels.”
The event was also attended by Md Shaheen Iqbal, CFA, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Treasury, FI, and Corporate and Institutional Banking, and Shahrear Zamil, Head of Remittance and Probashi Banking.
BRAC Bank has introduced the ‘Probashi Poribar Account’ for families of expatriates, and the ‘TARA Probashi Poribar Account’ specifically for female members of those families.
Through BRAC Bank’s digital onboarding platform (e-KYC), customers across the country can now open accounts seamlessly and within minutes.
This year, the bank also launched the Expatriate Virtual Savings Account, allowing customers to access BRAC Bank’s internet banking app, Astha, instantly, along with a virtual debit card.
