BRAC Bank & Sheba Merchants Join Forces: Fast-Track Micro-Loans for SMEs!

BRAC Bank has entered into a strategic collaboration with Sheba Merchants Limited to provide streamlined financial solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) registered on the Sheba Platform. This initiative aims to enhance access to capital, accelerate business growth, and strengthen the digital economy across Bangladesh.

Under the terms of the agreement, BRAC Bank will extend digital micro-loan facilities to eligible merchants on the Sheba Platform. These loans are designed to offer quick and efficient capital access, allowing SMEs to invest in inventory, expand operations, and maintain financial stability with minimal procedural friction. By integrating financial support with Sheba’s operational tools, the partnership seeks to create a comprehensive ecosystem for SME development.

Sheba Manager, the core platform facilitating this initiative, is an integrated business management solution that empowers SMEs to operate with greater efficiency and discipline. It combines multiple business functions—such as sales tracking, inventory management, expense oversight, digital bookkeeping, and seamless payment processing—into a single, user-friendly interface. Presently, Sheba Manager serves over 100,000 customers, managing transactions that exceed BDT 50 lakh per month, reflecting its critical role in the SME sector.

The agreement was formalised at BRAC Bank’s Dhaka headquarters in the presence of senior executives from both organisations. Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, and Adnan Imtiaz Halim, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sheba Platform Limited, signed the partnership agreement. Key attendees included BRAC Bank executives Mohammad Jakirul Islam, Azizul Hoq, Khadija Mariam, S M Ishtiaque, and from Sheba Merchants Limited, Ahmed Rakib Uddin.

This collaboration represents a strategic effort to merge technological innovation with inclusive financial services. BRAC Bank’s MSME customers will benefit from reciprocal access to Sheba Merchants Limited’s suite of digital solutions, including operational management tools and payment facilitation. The joint initiative is expected to foster a robust SME ecosystem, promote financial inclusion, and stimulate economic activity across urban and rural regions of Bangladesh.
