Citizens Bank PLC has formalised a strategic partnership with the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) to facilitate the collection of electricity bills across the country. The agreement was signed at the BREB Head Office in Nikunja-2, Dhaka, marking a significant step towards streamlining payment services for rural electricity consumers.
The signing ceremony was attended by prominent officials from both organisations, including Mr. Alamgir Hossain, Managing Director of Citizens Bank PLC, and Dr. Najmus Sayadat, Member (Finance) of BREB, who witnessed the formalisation of the agreement.
The agreement itself was executed by Mr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director of Citizens Bank PLC, and Mr. Md. Officials from both sides emphasised that this partnership will strengthen the accessibility of financial services in rural areas, allowing consumers to settle electricity payments without the need to travel long distances to BREB offices. Citizens Bank’s nationwide presence ensures that residents in remote locations can now benefit from a more integrated and user-friendly payment system.
