Dhaka Bank PLC has formalised a strategic collaboration with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate its banking services with BIDA’s One Stop Service (OSS) portal. The agreement was signed on 19 January 2025 at BIDA’s conference room in Agargaon, Dhaka.
The MoU was executed by Mr. Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank, and Air Commodore (Retd.) Md. Shaharul Huda, Executive Member of BIDA, representing their respective institutions.
Under this collaboration, investors—both domestic and foreign—will be able to open Dhaka Bank accounts directly through the OSS portal. The integration establishes a secure server-to-server connectivity, enabling efficient data exchange. This digital linkage is designed to provide faster, more transparent, and streamlined banking services as part of the investment setup process in Bangladesh, reducing administrative barriers and improving investor experience.
In his remarks, Mr. Faiz highlighted the significance of the initiative: “We are grateful to BIDA for spearheading this visionary One Stop Service platform. By digitalising and simplifying business registration and investment processes, the OSS portal strengthens Bangladesh’s capacity to attract foreign direct investment. Dhaka Bank, with over 30 years of corporate banking experience, is committed to delivering seamless and tailored financial services to investors via this integrated platform, ensuring efficiency and reliability at every stage of the investment journey.”
The signing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, holding the rank of State Minister, who served as the Chief Guest. Dhaka Bank was represented by Mr. Aklaqur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director, along with senior officials. The programme also featured a detailed presentation on OSS operations by BIDA Director General Jibon Krishna Saha Roy and was moderated by Deputy Director Abu Mohammad Nurul Hayat Totul.
This partnership reflects BIDA’s broader strategy of creating a unified digital ecosystem for investors, while marking a key milestone for Dhaka Bank in supporting Bangladesh’s digital transformation and investment-friendly policies.
