Dhaka Bank Partners with UNCDF to Launch Digital Financial Literacy Project

Dhaka Bank PLC, in partnership with the Shafal Programme — a joint initiative of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh — has launched the “Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) for Migrant Workers and Families” initiative. The goal of this initiative is to strengthen digital and financial inclusion among migrant communities in Bangladesh, according to a press release.

Through this collaboration, UNCDF and Dhaka Bank, with support from the Embassy of Switzerland, will co-develop a digital financial literacy curriculum and user-friendly learning modules. These resources will help migrant families learn how to safely use digital accounts, protect themselves from fraud, and make informed financial decisions to build savings and assets.

Speaking at the launch, A. K. M. Shahnawaj, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Dhaka Bank PLC, said, “As a socially responsible financial institution, Dhaka Bank is committed to bridging the digital divide and ensuring that migrant families, who contribute significantly to our economy, are empowered with the knowledge and tools to use digital financial services safely and effectively.”
