Karmasangsthan Bank Hosts Business Review Meeting In Sylhet

As part of its ongoing 90-day special operational programme, Karmasangsthan Bank convened its central Business Review Meeting-2026 on Saturday (6 June 2026) in the divisional city of Sylhet. The administrative session saw the mandatory participation of all regional managers, branch managers, and second officers operating within the jurisdiction of the Sylhet Divisional Office.

According to an official corporate press release issued by the financial institution, Dr A.F.M. Matiur Rahman, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Karmasangsthan Bank and a former Secretary to the Government, attended the review meeting as the chief guest.

Executive Leadership and Administrative Directive

The high-level banking review was attended by several members of the institution’s executive committee. Managing Director Arun Kumar Chowdhury and General Manager Md. Amirul Islam were present as special guests to provide regulatory oversight.

The meeting was officially chaired by Khaled Mohammad Jahangir, the Deputy General Manager of the Sylhet Divisional Office. Additionally, Manoj Roy, the Deputy General Manager of the Law, Research and Development Department from the bank’s central head office, traveled to Sylhet to assist in guiding the policy reviews.

In his address to the regional workforce, Chief Guest Dr A.F.M. Matiur Rahman placed significant emphasis on the qualitative aspects of credit deployment, instructing branch leaders to prioritise the distribution of high-quality loans designed to cultivate sustainable grassroots entrepreneurs. He further issued a directive calling for an immediate acceleration in all key performance indicators (KPIs) across the branches of the Sylhet Division, urging staff to deploy integrated initiatives, heightened accountability, and professional sincerity.

Performance Targets and Recovery Protocols

Managing Director Arun Kumar Chowdhury focused his segment of the review on stringent fiscal discipline and risk management. He underscored the absolute necessity of increasing the bank’s overall loan recovery rate, expanding the net loan balance, and systematically strengthening recovery mechanisms for classified, defaulted, and written-off credit lines.
