National Bank Launches Automated Remittance Cash Payment System

National Bank PLC has officially launched its groundbreaking ‘Remittance Cash Payment Automation’ system, marking a significant step in the bank’s digital transformation efforts, according to a recent press release.

Key Launch Details

The launch event took place on November 25, 2025, at the Bank’s Head Office, with Managing Director Mr. Adil Chowdhury cutting the ribbon to unveil the new system. The ceremony was attended by senior leadership, including Deputy Managing Directors and Divisional and Departmental Heads, while Branch and Sub-Branch Managers across the country joined the event online.

In his speech, Mr. Adil Chowdhury emphasised the importance of this technological milestone, stating, “With the introduction of Remittance Cash Payment Automation, National Bank has made another major advancement towards technology and modernisation. Customers will now be able to receive remittance funds sent by their loved ones from any of our Branches or Sub-branches in the shortest possible time. This automated process will ensure complete accuracy and the fastest reconciliation.”

The new system is expected to greatly enhance the customer experience for millions of remittance beneficiaries, offering faster processing times, improved service quality, and a smoother, hassle-free remittance payment experience nationwide.
