Midland Bank PLC has officially announced the promotion of Md Nazmul Huda Sarkar to the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD), effective from 1 January 2026, according to a statement released by the bank on Wednesday.

Throughout his distinguished career, Sarkar has held a variety of leadership and technical roles in both Bangladesh and Japan. His prior positions include contributions to Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) during its transition to a digital banking platform and service enhancement initiatives in enterprise technology. Internationally, he served as a Senior Application Engineer at Match.com in Japan and gained valuable experience with Fujitsu and Nissan Motor, honing expertise in software engineering, digital channels, and large-scale service delivery. In Bangladesh, he also contributed to IDLC Finance PLC and National Life Insurance, further consolidating his knowledge of financial technology and operational resilience.
As CTO at Midland Bank, Sarkar was instrumental in shaping the bank’s technology roadmap. His work focused on strengthening digital channels, improving enterprise platforms, and implementing secure, scalable solutions to support the bank’s operations and customer experience.
