The newly introduced services—Parama Nari Shomota, Parama Power Saver, Parama Payroll, and Parama Fixed Deposit—are tailored to support female customers and entrepreneurs with competitive terms and conditions.

This initiative underscores the bank’s dedication to customer-centric solutions, high-quality service, and technology-driven banking innovation.

The official launch of these products took place at the Palace Luxury Resort in Habiganj, Sylhet, during the Annual Business Conference 2025. The event was attended by the bank’s Chairman, Md Nurun Newaz Salim; Chairman of the Executive Committee, Khairul Alam Chaklader; Director, Syed Asif Nizamuddin; Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee, Meer Sajed-Ul-Basher FCA; and Managing Director, M Shamsul Arefin. Several deputy managing directors, business heads, branch heads, and division heads of NCC Bank PLC were also present.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim highlighted the crucial role women play in Bangladesh’s socio-economic landscape. He emphasised that these new financial products are designed to enhance women’s access to banking services, fostering their financial independence and entrepreneurial growth.

Managing Director M Shamsul Arefin elaborated on the bank’s broader initiative, “NCC Parama,” a dedicated women’s banking programme. He noted that NCC Bank had previously introduced various deposit and loan products for women, in addition to offering lifestyle benefits through its Debit, Credit, and Prepaid Cards, which have been well received by female customers.

The newly launched services offer several key benefits, including:

  • Parama Nari Shomota and Parama Fixed Deposit – Up to 90% secured loan facilities on deposits.
  • Parama Power Saver – A specialised savings account with attractive interest rates.
  • Parama Payroll – A payroll service tailored for female employees of organisations that have partnered with the bank.

Arefin expressed optimism that these customised banking solutions would significantly benefit women by catering to their diverse financial needs.

The introduction of gender-focused banking services aligns with global efforts to promote women’s financial inclusion. Studies suggest that when women have access to tailored financial products, their participation in entrepreneurship and economic activities increases, ultimately contributing to national economic growth. In Bangladesh, financial institutions have increasingly recognised the need to bridge the gender gap in banking, offering women-centric savings, loans, and investment schemes to support their financial well-being.
