NCC Bank has unveiled its new Visa Business Multicurrency Debit Card, a financial tool designed to offer small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups greater financial control, higher transaction limits, and the ability to track expenses in real time.
The Visa Business Multicurrency Debit Card is aimed at businesses looking for a more efficient and flexible way to manage their international transactions. The dual-currency card, which is internationally accepted, also features the business name embossed on it, allowing companies to boost their brand presence with every transaction.
The card was officially launched at a ceremony held at NCC Bank’s head office, with the event attended by key figures, including M Shamsul Arefin, the bank’s managing director. Other notable attendees included Nawshad Mustafa, Director of the SME & Special Programs Department at Bangladesh Bank; Mustafizur Rahman, Additional Director at Bangladesh Bank; Sabbir Ahmed, Country Manager for Visa in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan; Arifur Rahman, Director of Business Development for Visa South Asia; and senior management officials from NCC Bank.
M Shamsul Arefin, Managing Director of NCC Bank, highlighted the importance of the card in meeting the evolving needs of businesses in today’s competitive market. “SMEs, startups, importers, and exporters require speed, flexibility, and internationally recognised financial services. Our new Visa Business Multicurrency Debit Card is designed to provide exactly that,” he said. “Through this card, customers can access foreign currency under their business quota in addition to their personal travel quota. This offers them greater scope to expand international business operations and enjoy more financial independence. We believe this product will open new opportunities for Bangladesh’s business community and serve as a landmark development in the country’s banking sector.”
Nawshad Mustafa, Director at Bangladesh Bank, praised NCC Bank’s initiative, noting the importance of supporting the country’s CMSME (Cottage, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) sector. “Bangladesh Bank continues to prioritise the development of this sector and encourages all financial institutions to take a proactive role in supporting these businesses,” he said.
Sabbir Ahmed, Visa’s Country Manager for Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, also welcomed the launch, emphasising that the new Visa Business Debit Card exemplifies NCC Bank’s commitment to innovation. “This card is a reflection of the bank’s forward-thinking approach and its efforts to provide businesses with the tools they need to navigate an increasingly digital and global economy,” he said.
The Visa Business Multicurrency Debit Card is expected to be a game-changer for businesses in Bangladesh, helping them to operate more efficiently on the international stage while offering added convenience and security.
