NRBC Bank PLC has entered into a remittance distribution agreement with UK-based BRAC Saajan Exchange Ltd, further strengthening formal channels for the transfer of remittances to Bangladesh.
According to a press release issued by the bank, the signing ceremony took place on Monday (20 April 2026) at the head office of NRBC Bank PLC.
The agreement was formally signed on behalf of the respective institutions by Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NRBC Bank PLC, and Abdus Salam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BRAC Saajan Exchange Limited, United Kingdom.
Under the terms of this agreement, Bangladeshi expatriates residing in various countries will be able to send remittances to their beneficiaries in Bangladesh securely and efficiently. The funds will be disbursed through the wide network of NRBC Bank PLC, including its branches and sub-branches across the country. The arrangement is intended to support improved access to formal banking channels for remittance inflows, ensuring timely delivery of funds to recipients in Bangladesh.
Officials present at the ceremony included Mohammad Abdul Qaium Khan, Deputy Managing Director of NRBC Bank PLC; Hasnat Reza Mohibbul Alam, Head of International Division; Md Abdul Gafur Raana, Head of Treasury; and representatives from the bank’s Islamic Window, including Al Amin. From the BRAC Saajan Exchange Ltd side, Md Marzanur Rahman, Head of Operations, and Kallol Biswas, Manager (Operations), were also present, along with other senior officials from both organisations.
The agreement reflects ongoing collaboration between financial institutions operating in Bangladesh and overseas exchange houses, aimed at facilitating compliant and structured remittance flows through banking channels. Such partnerships typically enable expatriate workers to remit earnings to their families and dependants through authorised systems, supporting formal financial inclusion and distribution networks within the country.
