United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has signed a partnership agreement with bKash, the country’s largest mobile financial service provider, to introduce 24/7 Automated Cash Management Services for bKash agents, distributors, and partners across Bangladesh.
Through this collaboration, bKash’s extensive network of agents and distributors holding accounts with UCB will gain access to real-time, round-the-clock automated cash management facilities.
Using their UCB accounts, agents, distributors, and merchants will be able to add money, transfer funds, and generate e-money at any time—enabling faster transactions and accelerating Bangladesh’s transition towards a cashless economy, free from the constraints of traditional banking hours.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally exchanged between Adnan Masud, Additional Managing Director of UCB, and Moinuddin Mohammed Rahgir, Chief Financial Officer of bKash, at a signing ceremony recently held at UCB’s Corporate Head Office.
The event was graced by the presence of Nabil Mustafizur Rahman and Abul Alam Ferdous, Additional Managing Directors of UCB; Md Abdullah Al Mamoon, Faruk Ahammad, and SM Mainul Kabir, Deputy Managing Directors of UCB; and Ahamed Ashraf Sharif, Head of Treasury at bKash; along with other senior officials from both organisations.
This initiative marks a significant step in UCB’s ongoing commitment to expanding its digital banking capabilities, improving customer convenience, and supporting the continued evolution of Bangladesh’s digital financial ecosystem.
