BRAC Bank has entered into a formal partnership with Ascent Health Limited to extend healthcare benefits to its employees and cardholders across Bangladesh, according to an official press release.
The agreement enables BRAC Bank employees, along with their legal dependants—including spouses, children, parents, and in-laws—to receive a 30 per cent discount on pathological tests where samples are collected from home. The same discount also applies to visits to consultation chambers. In addition, the bank’s debit and credit cardholders, together with their eligible dependants, will receive a 25 per cent discount on these services.
Both categories of beneficiaries will have access to consultations with medical specialists across a broad range of disciplines. These include Internal Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Nephrology, Physical Medicine, Neurology, Gynaecology, and Paediatrics, among others. The inclusion of home sample collection services is intended to improve convenience and accessibility, particularly for patients who may face challenges visiting diagnostic facilities in person.
The agreement was formally signed on 23 April 2026 at the head office of BRAC Bank. Senior representatives from both organisations were present at the signing ceremony.
On behalf of BRAC Bank, the signatories and attendees included Md. Mahiul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking; Khairuddin Ahmed Bappy, Head of Merchant Acquiring; and Md. Ashraful Alam, Head of Alliances, Retail Banking, alongside other senior officials. Representing Ascent Health Limited were Anwarul Iqbal, Chief Executive Officer; Amer Ahmed, Director of Business Development at Ascent Group; and Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Deputy General Manager of Sales – Corporate and B2C.
Commenting on the initiative, Md. Mahiul Islam stated: “BRAC Bank believes that our responsibility to our people and customers extends well beyond financial services. This partnership with Ascent Health Limited brings quality healthcare within easier reach, whether for our coworkers and their families, or for the millions of customers who bank with us every day.”
The partnership reflects a broader trend among financial institutions in Bangladesh to incorporate value-added services beyond traditional banking, particularly in areas such as healthcare access and customer welfare.
