BRAC Bank has formalised a strategic agreement with Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) to facilitate the digital collection of gas bills. This partnership is designed to enhance the accessibility of payment methods for customers within the KGDCL service areas by leveraging the bank’s extensive physical and digital infrastructure.
Integration of Digital Payment Channels
Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding, BRAC Bank will provide comprehensive bill collection services for both domestic and corporate consumers. To ensure seamless transaction management, the bank will establish Application Programming Interface (API) connectivity with the utility provider. This technical integration allows for real-time synchronisation of payment records, thereby improving operational efficiency and the accuracy of financial reconciliations.
The bank’s digital banking ecosystem will be central to this initiative. Corporate clients will be able to settle their obligations via the CORPNET platform, while retail customers can utilise the Astha mobile application. Both platforms will be integrated with KGDCL’s systems to provide immediate updates upon the completion of a transaction.
Distribution Network and Physical Accessibility
In addition to digital channels, BRAC Bank will utilise its nationwide network of branches and sub-branches to facilitate over-the-counter payments. This multi-channel approach ensures that customers who prefer traditional banking methods still benefit from the improved reconciliation processes facilitated by the new API link.
