Prime Bank PLC has taken a pioneering step in Bangladesh’s financial and trade sector by unveiling Prime Banijjo, the nation’s first artificial-intelligence-powered digital Letter of Credit (LC) management platform. The landmark launch represents a significant leap forward in the country’s journey towards comprehensive trade digitisation, signalling a future where traditional banking processes become faster, smarter and more transparent.
During the launch event, invited corporate clients, trade partners and industry professionals participated in an immersive experience session designed to showcase the platform’s innovative features. Attendees were able to explore Prime Banijjo’s intelligent LC drafting system, which uses AI to reduce human error and ensure consistency. They also experienced automated compliance checks capable of identifying discrepancies instantly — a task that traditionally requires hours of manual verification. In addition, the platform offers real-time transaction tracking, providing businesses with immediate updates at every stage of the LC lifecycle, eliminating guesswork and unnecessary follow-ups.
Prime Banijjo has been developed to streamline the end-to-end LC process, accelerating turnaround times while enhancing accuracy and operational efficiency. By minimising manual workload and removing delays commonly associated with paperwork and physical verification, the system aims to empower businesses engaged in international trade, especially exporters and importers who rely heavily on timely LC processing.
The launch comes shortly after Prime Bank was honoured with the Honourable Mention for Best Project and Project Management at the Project Management Institute (PMI) Bangladesh Awards. The recognition highlights the Bank’s excellence in project leadership, innovation and disciplined execution — qualities that are also reflected in the development of Prime Banijjo.
The event was attended by several senior officials, including Syed Sazzad Haider Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Information Officer, and Md. Tanveer Bin Hasan, AVP and Lead of Trade Automation & Innovation. Their presence underscored the Bank’s commitment to driving digital transformation across Bangladesh’s banking landscape.
Prime Bank reaffirmed that Prime Banijjo is not merely a technological upgrade but a long-term commitment to modernising the country’s trade ecosystem. By adopting cutting-edge AI-driven tools, the Bank aims to provide businesses with a faster, safer and more efficient way to manage cross-border transactions, ultimately contributing to national economic growth.
