IFIC Bank has reinforced its commitment to business expansion and sustainable growth through the successful staging of the IFIC Bank Uposhakha Business Conference 2026 – Chittagong Region, a full-day strategic gathering that brought together representatives from all the bank’s uposhakhas operating across the Chittagong region. The conference was held on Saturday, 31 January 2026, at the historic Chittagong Club, according to a media release issued by the bank.
The event was presided over by the Chairman of IFIC Bank, Mr Md. Mehmood Husain, who attended as the chief guest. Also present were the Managing Director, Mr Syed Mansur Mustafa; Deputy Managing Director and Chief of Branch Business, Mr Md. Rafiqul Islam; the Regional Manager for the Chittagong Region, Mr Md. Monjurul Mumin; along with managers and officials representing each uposhakha in the region.
In his keynote address, Chairman Md. Mehmood Husain underscored the pivotal role of trust and grassroots engagement in the bank’s success. He noted that the confidence placed in IFIC Bank by its customers, combined with the tireless efforts of frontline staff working at the uposhakha level, constituted the institution’s strongest competitive advantage. Highlighting the intensifying competition within the banking sector, he stressed that uposhakhas were increasingly central to delivering responsive customer service and fostering long-term relationships. He expressed confidence that IFIC Bank would further consolidate its position as a dependable and comprehensive banking service provider throughout the Chittagong region.
Managing Director Syed Mansur Mustafa echoed these sentiments, emphasising that the bank’s extensive nationwide network of uposhakhas provided a solid platform for sustainable business growth. He outlined ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing staff skills, supporting career progression, and broadening the reach of modern and technology-driven banking services to meet evolving customer expectations.
The inaugural address was delivered by Deputy Managing Director Md. Rafiqul Islam, who presented an in-depth overview of current performance indicators and outlined strategic business plans for the coming year. His presentation focused on deposit growth, responsible credit expansion, recovery efficiency, and profitability at the sub-branch level.
A key highlight of the conference was the recognition of outstanding performance. Eighteen uposhakhas were honoured with special awards for their notable contributions to deposit mobilisation, loan disbursement and recovery, and the achievement of operating profits.
