The Bankers Club of Bangladesh Limited, the nation’s premier registered organisation for the banking fraternity, has successfully concluded its executive elections. In a high-stakes poll conducted on Friday, 27 February 2026, Md. Rashed Akter was elected as the new President, while Rashid-un-Nabi secured the pivotal role of General Secretary. The newly elected body is set to steer the club’s strategic direction for a two-year tenure (2026–2028).
Election Dynamics and Panel Performance
The electoral contest was primarily a battle between two dominant factions: the Bankers Oikya Parishad and the Sarbojanin Bankers Parishad. A total of 46 candidates across these panels, along with one independent contender, vied for the trust of the membership.
The Bankers Oikya Parishad achieved a resounding victory, sweeping 19 key positions, including the Presidency, General Secretary, and Organising Secretary. In contrast, the Sarbojanin Bankers Parishad managed to secure the Social Welfare Secretary post and three Executive Member seats.
