Mercantile Bank PLC Opens Four New Sub-Branches

Mercantile Bank PLC has officially expanded its retail network by inaugurating four new sub-branches across Bangladesh. According to an official corporate press release, the structural expansion is part of the financial institution’s ongoing strategy to deliver modern, efficient, and accessible banking services directly to its nationwide customer base.

The newly established sub-branches are located across diverse regions, including Pirojpur, Madaripur, Bhola, and the capital city, Dhaka. Mati Ul Hasan, the Managing Director of Mercantile Bank PLC, presided over the digital launch ceremony as the chief guest.

Executive Proceedings and Network Milestones

During the opening ceremony, Deputy Managing Director Shamim Ahmed delivered the formal welcome address to the attendees, while Deputy Managing Director Ashim Kumar Saha concluded the proceedings by presenting the vote of thanks. The corporate event was attended by senior executives, including Deputy Managing Directors Md. Zakir Hossain, Dr Md. Zahid Hossain, and Tapash Chandra Paul, PhD.

Other notable attendees included Senior Executive Vice Presidents Mohammad Iqbal Rezwan and Md. Abdul Halim, Main Branch Head Md. Abdul Awal, Head of Branches Division Md. Aliullah, and controlling branch heads. Local dignitaries, business leaders, media representatives, and bank officials were also present.

Addressing the gathering, Managing Director Mati Ul Hasan highlighted the bank’s operational legacy, noting that after completing 27 years of operations, the institution remains dedicated to providing high-quality banking solutions. He confirmed that the introduction of these four locations brings the bank’s total sub-branch network to 52. This works alongside its existing service delivery infrastructure, which includes 153 traditional branches, 200 ATM and CRM booths, and 188 agent banking outlets distributed nationwide.
