Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with Bangladesh University of Textile (BUTEX) and its Career Club, has organised a seminar titled “Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking” under its flagship initiative PrimeAcademia, according to a press release.
The programme brought together senior officials from Prime Bank and representatives from the university to discuss financial literacy, career development, and the importance of industry-relevant skills for young professionals. The event was designed to strengthen engagement between academia and the banking sector, with a particular focus on youth inclusion in financial services.
The keynote address was delivered by Syed Sazzad Haider Chowdhury. He provided insights into career planning, critical decision-making, and the need for developing skills aligned with evolving industry demands.
Another key presentation was delivered by Shaila Abedin, who highlighted ethical leadership, informed decision-making, and the growing role of women in building a future-ready workforce.
M M Mahbub Hasan spoke on the importance of financial literacy and money management as foundational elements for responsible youth development. He also outlined the bank’s achievements and initiatives over its 31-year history in advancing financial inclusion.
The Vice-Chancellor of BUTEX, Professor Dr Md Zulhash Uddin, attended the programme as Chief Guest. He emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration between industry and academia to better prepare students for professional environments. Additionally, Professor Dr Md Mashiur Rahman delivered the inaugural address.
